For former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, the election is “a choice between freedom and fascism.”

O’Malley, who has campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 19 states, called Trump a fascist in a tweet this afternoon and encouraged Maryland voters to cast their ballots for the Democratic presidential nominee.

“Let’s beat that fascist @realdonaldtrump w/ the largest vote margin for @hillaryclinton of any state!” he tweeted at about 4 p.m.

This state’s 10 electoral votes have been cast for a Democratic presidential candidate since the 1988 election, when former President George H.W. Bush represented the Republican Party.

Polls in this state are open until 8 p.m.
