Prince George’s County Police are investigating a homicide after a body was found near a walking trail by Lake Artemesia.

A citizen found the male victim’s body at around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 5700 block of Nevada Street, about 200 yards into a wooded area in Berwyn Heights, police told Fox 5.

Officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department, Berwyn Heights Police Department and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police Department responded to the scene.

The state medical examiner performed an autopsy that showed the victim died from blunt force trauma to the body, and his death has been ruled a homicide. Police have not confirmed whether the man was killed in the wooded area or brought there after his death.

The victim’s identity will be released once his family has been notified, police told WTOP.

A suspect has not been identified.
