Maryland basketball will face Syracuse at the Carrier Dome in the 2017 Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the school announced Thursday.

Syracuse failed to make the NCAA Tournament last season, going 19-15 on the year and 10-8 in ACC play, finishing seventh in the conference and losing in the second round of the NIT.

Two seasons ago, the Orange made a surprising run to the Final Four as a No. 10 seed before falling to North Carolina.

Maryland and Syracuse last met on Feb. 24, 2014. Maryland dropped the contest, 57-55, against the then-ACC foe. The Terps are 5-3 overall against the Orange.

Since joining the Big Ten, Maryland has been 0-3 against its old conference. The Terps have lost to Virginia, North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

The game’s date and time has yet to be announced.
