Maryland men’s basketball forward Justin Jackson is one of 10 players on the Preseason All-Big Ten team. The honor comes a day after Jackson was named to the Julius Erving Award watch list for college basketball’s top small forward.

Jackson averaged 10.5 points and a team-high six rebounds per game last season while shooting 43.8 percent from the 3-point line.

While Jackson mainly played power forward last season, coach Mark Turgeon said he’ll play the sophomore more on the wing this year. The seventh-year coach hopes to use Jackson in isolations and off-ball screens, allowing the 6-foot-7, 225-pound swingman to make plays with his athleticism and passing ability.
