The Maryland men’s soccer team fell to No. 9 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches rankings after a 13-game unbeaten run snapped with consecutive defeats.

The Terps (10-2-3, 5-0-2 Big Ten) had been No. 3 since mid-September and were never lower than No. 6 as they went undefeated through most of their Big Ten schedule.

Maryland lost 1-0 games to No. 10 Georgetown and Coastal Carolina, the team’s first consecutive regular season losses since 2014 and its first two-game home losing streak since the mid-2000s.

Wake Forest moved into the No. 1 spot in the country, passing Indiana, which is No. 2 after a draw at No. 21 Butler last week.

The Terps play No. 19 Michigan in Sunday’s regular season finale.
