After ending its 42-year championship drought, the Maryland men's lacrosse team enters the 2018 season with the top ranking in the preseason coaches poll. The Terps secured Big Ten regular season and tournament titles en route to the program's third championship in 2017.

Coach John Tillman's team will play eight teams ranked in the preseason coaches poll. The Terps are scheduled to face No. 3 Albany, No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Rutgers, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 North Carolina, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Penn State and No. 18 Pennsylvania.

Maryland will face three consecutive ranked opponents starting Feb. 21 and four consecutive ranked teams once it begins conference play.

Duke, Albany, Denver and Yale round out the top five, respectively.

The Terps are scheduled to host their first of two scrimmages Saturday against Georgetown in College Park. Maryland opens the season at home Feb. 10 against Navy.
