Maryland football running back Lorenzo Harrison did not dress for the Terps’ game against Temple due to injury, a team spokesman said.

The team has not provided any further information on Harrison’s injury or status.

Harrison is the second ball carrier Maryland lost through injury. Jake Funk broke his hand last week during practice.

Harrison was instrumental in the Terps’ 444 rushing yards last week against Bowling Green, the most the team has picked up in one game since 1999. The junior tailback compiled 86 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

But without Saturday, Maryland struggled in the first half against Temple, especially with its running game. At the end of the first quarter, the Terps offense had one first down and had rushed for -2 yards.

In 2016, Harrison ran for 633 yards and set a Maryland freshman record with 7.2 yards per carry. He followed that up with 622 yards last year as a sophomore.

In Harrison’s place, Ty Johnson, Anthony McFarland and Tayon Fleet-Davis shouldered the load Saturday.
