Time and time again, we here at Terps Watch have let you know of the greatness that is former Maryland men’s basketball player Jake Layman and we are back at it again after Layman’s performance Thursday night against the Phoenix Suns.

Layman enjoyed a career high for points, dropping 24 on the Suns in a game that also included seven rebounds and two steals.

The former Terp was 10-for-13 on field goals and 3-for-5 on his 3-pointers, which included making this shot while getting fouled.

He also enjoyed this alley-oop with some help from Damian Lillard as part of his 24 points.

Layman’s performance also earned him one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a player: getting water dumped on his head by a teammate.

In his third season in the NBA, Layman has been enjoying vastly more playing time than his rookie and sophomore campaigns. He’s already started 19 games for Portland, playing 16.3 minutes per game after getting an average of just 5.8 minutes per game the prior two seasons.
